My Story
With over 26 years of experience in education as a highly qualified and certified teacher, I bring a deep commitment to student success, ethical leadership, and community engagement. My career includes 11 years in educational leadership, where I have worked collaboratively with educators, families, and community partners to support high-quality learning environments. I have served as a teacher and in Lee (Florida) Dekalb, Henry, Clayton, and Fayette County Schools. I have served in alternative, high achievement, and low income schools.
I have served on the Fayette County High School Principal's Advisory Council and the HOSA Advisory Board, contributing strategic insight and advocacy for student development and career readiness. My previous service as PTSO President reflects my longstanding dedication to family and community involvement in education.
Beyond the school system, I am an active civic leader as a the chair of the City of Fayetteville Ethics Committee and a Post Seat Holder for the Fayette County Democrats. In addition, I serve on the African American Caucus for FCDC. Across all roles, I am guided by a strong belief in integrity, transparency, and service-driven leadership. As a community leader, I am a charter member of the Fayette County Alumnae chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. where I serve as the social action chair. I am also a member of the Fayette County Area Chapter of Jack and Jill of America Inc. where I have served as legislative chair. In 2025 I received the 100 Black Women of Atlanta Unsung Heroine Award.
I am a proud mom of three wonderful children and two beautiful granddaughters. I am also a proud graduate of Florida A&M University, Florida State University, and The University of Sarasota.
